Ilde has been brainwashed into a cult and been traumatized by post-apocalyptic conditions. The world is violent and Ilde has seen some very gorey and disgusting things; including torture. She herself is emotionally manipulative. Dreus is overtly an epitome of toxic masculinity and a misogynist.
Ilde oscillates between whitewashing the severity of the situation and speaking to it directly, although she never goes into graphic detail. It's not something she enjoys talking about either. Narrative can be more suggestive of the horror of the situation, but not in overly graphic detail.
